Edgware Town
(1)3 – AFC Hayes (1)1
Middlesex Senior Charity Cup
Quarter Final
Tuesday 29th January 2008

Edgware booked a place in the Semi Final of the Middlesex Senior Charity Cup tonight beating British Gas League, Division One, opponents AFC Hayes 3-1 at the White Lion ground. They now play either, Wealdstone, Hillingdon Borough or Harefield United again at the White Lion on or about 13th March.

Kevin Chakaodza’s  25th minute volley, to put the Wares ahead, was negated within 3 minutes when uncharacteristically Darren Bonfield, the big Edgware keeper, spilled a shot and Ryan Kirkland was on hand to slot home from close in.

The game was a bit scrappy in the first half with both sides trying to force an advantage. Edgware were more composed in the second period but had to wait until just past the hour for any reward, an incisive cross from Adil Salih was met in the area by Greg Ngoyi who dispatched the ball past Carl Tasker, in the visitors goal, to put the home side ahead again.

Substitute Adam Wallace put the game to bed 3 minutes from the end to make it 3-1 and a step towards some silverware for his team before the end of the season.

Edgware: Bonfield, Taylor (Rispoli), Kane (Hart), Smith, Lemand, Ferneé, Salih, Moore, Ngoyi (Wallace), Chakaodza, Cain.

Other Subs: Killick, R Blackburne
