Met Police Bushey 4 - Edgware Town 4

Edgware drew 4-4 at Met Police Bushey this afternoon in a match that saw the Wares leading by 4 goals to 1 at one stage of the match writes Gavin Shaw.

Edgware were without a number of first teamers (Rory Smith, Richard Morton, Stuart Blackburne) however it was still a strong Wares side that started the match, with a mixture of 1st teamers and a handful from Edgware's successful youth team of last season.

Edgware went a goal behind early on, before Greg Ngoyi added a couple in a half which was dominated by the Wares, as they led 2-1 at the interval.

The Wares made several changes at the break, but it did not seem to disrupt their play, as Adam Wallace and then Vince Rispoli from the penalty spot gave Edgware a commanding 4-1 lead, with still half of the second period remaining; at this stage it appeared to be a case of how many goals Edgware would win the match by.

Bushey created a goal out of nothing which seemed to give them a spring in their step, within minutes they added a third, and before Edgware had time to regroup the Police were on level terms!

Last seasons Spartan League Champions had to settle for a draw from their first outing this pre season, though full credit should be given to a Bushey side who play their football 3 levels below that of Edgware.

Edgware are next in action on July 21st when they host North Greenford United from the Combined Counties League. The match is the first of SIX pre season home matches, before the club have to vacate the White Lion Ground.
